Why do agents always say, 'Location,
location, location?' Well it may seem like tired advice, but it's
still the best when looking for a new home. Why?
There are many things you can change about
your home. You can upgrade landscaping, add onto, remodel and
redecorate. But you're stuck with where it sits. Your home may be
beautiful and have everything you want - inside! But choosing the
right location makes it the treasure you'd hoped it would be.
Every real estate professional will tell
you - location is very important and the choice is as individual as
you. The neighborhood you choose should have the conveniences and
services you need, including schools, shopping and easy access to
your place of employment.
So, whether you like city living in the
middle of things, a subdivision with amenities or the privacy of a
countryside setting, there are many things to consider regarding the
location of your new home.
If you enjoy walking, jogging, bike riding
or just being out in the open, proximity to public parks may be an
important amenity. Depending on your commute and your own personal
transportation, being close to public transportation is often a plus
and can add lots of convenience to your daily routine.
Being close to a supermarket can sometimes
be more of a necessity than a convenience. Having a mall nearby is
essential to some, especially if there's a shopaholic among you. You
might want to be near museums, the art institute or the local
playhouse, depending on your taste in cultural interests. And if you
enjoy dining out and taking in the latest movies, you'll want to be
near the center of that activity. Schools often play an important
role, also.
Rank these amenities according to what's
important to you and your family and make a 'wish list' to rate
prospective neighborhoods as you continue your search for the one
that's just right. Set your own pace. It takes time to find the best
neighborhood with homes in your price range. We can then find the
two or three homes that suit your needs.
When everything seems right, you can make
an offer with the confidence that your new home will be just right
for you.
